School of Imagination is Hiring a Learning and Development Manager Near Dublin, CA

Learning and Development Manager

The objective of the Learning and Development Manager is to bring out the best in every person and team so that we can bring out the extraordinary in every child. The Learning and Development Manager delivers focused, efficient and innovative learning and development programs and experiences thoughtfully designed to help our professionals best serve at every stage of their career. 

This Dublin, California-based position supports learning for 60 professionals who serve more than 700 families in the Bay Area. All services, as well as this role, are in-person at this time.

Your Responsibilities

As the Learning and Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in unleashing the potential of early childhood educators, pediatric therapists, and administrators at the School of Imagination and Happy Talkers. By designing and implementing cutting-edge learning and development strategies, you will empower these professionals to fulfill the organization's mission of bringing out the extraordinary in every child. Responsibilities may include: 

  • Design and execute a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles and familiarizing them with the organization's culture, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate cohort-based learning initiatives, creating a collaborative environment and monitoring participant progress and engagement.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to develop individual development plans, recommending relevant training opportunities and providing ongoing support.
  • Ensure team members' compliance with mandatory training requirements, promoting participation and maintaining accurate records.
  • Maintain updated training curriculum and playbooks, incorporating industry best practices and continuously evaluating effectiveness.
  • Develop a comprehensive training program for the new school year, addressing essential topics and evaluating its effectiveness.
  • Identify and implement team-based training initiatives to foster collaboration, communication, and skill development.
  • Drive performance reviews and improvement plans, train supervisors and provide guidance and support for underperforming team members.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • In-depth knowledge of early childhood education practices, interventions, and/or pediatric therapy, including current trends.
  • Experience working directly with early childhood educators and/or pediatric therapists, understanding their needs and challenges.
  • Expertise in developing tailored learning and development programs for educators and/or therapists.
  • Strong understanding and integration of intervention strategies in training initiatives.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in education and therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage professionals and promote continuous learning.
  • Strategic thinking and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong instructional design skills for engaging and interactive materials.
  • Stay updated with research and best practices in the field.
  • Passionate about supporting professionals in early childhood education and/or pediatric therapy.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Ability: Read, analyze and interpret business, professional, technical or governmental documents.
  • Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and the public.
  • Reasoning Ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
